Speaker:
David G. Dick

This talk by David G. Dick will introduce both some philosophical perspectives on money and some of the philosophical questions that money provokes.

Description:

Philosophers might seem like the very last people to talk about money, since they are usually so bad at making it. But even Adam Smith himself, father of capitalism, was a philosopher before he was an economist. Since at least Aristotle, philosophers have had interesting and provocative things to say about money. This talk by David G. Dick will introduce both some philosophical perspectives on money and some of the philosophical questions that money provokes.

David G. Dick is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy, University of Calgary. and a Fellow in CCAL at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, researching and teaching on ethics, political philosophy, and the philosophy of money.

Free, everyone welcome.
